MATTER
MATTER
Basically
there are three types of matter solid, liquid and gas but there are two more states
of matter Plasma and Bose and Einstein condensate.
- 1. Solid are known for their hardness and rigid nature.
·
They
have definite mass and volume.
·
The
intermolecular space present in it is small.
·
They
have compressibility to some extent.
·
They
do not show the property of diffusion.
·
They
have less kinetic energy.
- 2. Liquids are known as their fluidity and their irregular shapes.
·
They
have fixed volume but not fixed shape.
·
They
are more compressible more than solids.
·
They
have more kinetic energy than solid.
·
Liquids
have fluidity and diffusion.
·
Liquid
have lesser density as compared to solids.
·
They
have more intermolecular space is more than solids.
- 3. Gases are known for their maximum fluidity.
·
They
do not have definite shape and volume.
·
They
are highly compressible.
·
They have maximum kinetic energy and fludity.
·
Gases
exert pressure.
·
Intermolecular
space is maximum.
·
Gases
diffuses very rapidly.
- 4. Plasma is something which occurs it is own light and basically a mixture of free electrons and ions. Actually inside the Suns and the stars the temperature is high. As a result, the atoms break releasing electrons and the residue particles are called ions which carry positive charge. The mixture of highly energetic electrons and ions is known as plasma which is responsible for the shine or glow. Lightning is also an occurrence of plasma. When electricity pasess through plasma those electrons get out of their nucleus.
·
Plasma
do not have definite shape and volume.
·
Plasma conducts electricity.
·
They form an electronic field.
- 5. Bose-Einstein condensate: a low density gas is cooled to 0K or more down when they cooled so much the atoms lose their identity and they forms waves like structures ,so this change in state of mater is called Bose-Einstein condensate or fifth state of matter.
